I was so excited to tour the Fisher Mansion in December. I work in the area and drive down W. Boston almost every day and have always wanted to see the Fisher Mansion from the inside. Linda and Becky did a wonderful job organizing the tour, making sure we got to see the beauty of the home -- and it was especially lovely at Christmas -- and in the process learn about Boston Edison's history and its role in Detroit's development. As someone who moved to the area as an adult, I was grateful to learn about Detroit's history from such a credible source and at an historic site. Feet on the Street thought of and took care of every detail, and I feel lucky to have been included. Keep up the excellent work!

Hi Linda, I just wanted to thank you and your staff again for making the day in Mexican Town so enjoyable. We all had a wonderful time. Looking forward to next year!

I highly recommend Feet on the Street Tours and Linda Yellin. I was the programs chairperson for IFMA- Int’l Facilities Mgmt Assoc and on June 15, 2011, we toured several areas including Midtown, Eastern Market and Downtown/RiverWalk to see and learn first-hand about their “new and improved infrastructures”. Linda coordinated all of the following: · Started and ended tour at 234 Winder Street Inn (FANTASTIC renovated B&B- hidden jewel of Detroit right next to Ford Field & Comerica Park). We had refreshments at the B&B after the tour · Bus tour company · Representatives from each locale we visited; Everyone had a great time and the event went off without a hitch. Linda was great to work with, very accommodating, patient, flexible, friendly, cost reasonable and professional.
Thank you, Gregg Leshman
We have done 2 programs with Feet on the Street tours now. What can I say but WOW!! Linda always comes up with exciting places to see that we never knew existed. Her organization and attention to detail are first rate. I never worry when I have an event that Linda has planned. I know it will go off without a hitch.

Hello Linda Thank you so much for being able to accommodate our group! They all loved it – I have heard great feedback!! I will definitely be in touch (or one of my committee members) about potential other tours!!!
I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Eastern Market. I was surprised that only a few of us had been down there in the last year when it is a great place with awesome food and great value in the meat market. I will definitely have to head down on a Saturday to see it in full effect!
The tour was fantastic!!!! I would love to see it again. She has so many types of tours. ... Everyone loved it!
I highly recommend FeetOnTheStreet Detroit tours for a most entertaining and rewarding experience. Linda Yellen has put together so many interesting packages, especially the Prohibition Tour and the Eastern Market/dining adventure. She is truly an asset to Detroit's resurgence. Her tours showcase the wonderful sights the city offers, and the bus tours are an easy, ideal way of viewing them.
Linda, Thanks so much for the awesome Foodcrawl tour last monday afternoon! My sister and I enjoyed exploring the hidden jewels of Detroit, and I'm glad to have been able give my sister a good impression of the D on her visit here! I appreciate very much your ability to organize such a wonderful tour with such friendly people (and with incredible fortitude; you do live up to your name :)). I was particularly impressed by the hidden jewel that your tour uncovered -- the Shangri-La restaurant. It beats out much of what I've eaten for dim sum as a kid!

Thank you Linda! My mom's 80th birthday will be a day to be remembered. Linda planned a 4 hour tour of Detroit's best sites (and even a few of its not so best - just for balance) and blended it with several of my mom's keepsake sites from her childhood including homes where she grew up, schools, synagogues and even the "Avenue of Fashion" aka Livernois. Linda got our entire group of 30 (on our comfortable luxury bus) involved in the nostalgia recounting their childhood memories and hopes for Detroit's rebirth which is well underway. Linda's knowledge of Detroit's architecture and history (e.g. The Purple Gang, Black Bottom, Brush Park, Boston Edison, Dexter/Davidson) is impressive. It was a tremendous blend of historical fact and personal history which made for an unforgettable afternoon.

My name is Dianne Griswold and in September of this year, I had an opportunity to take a tour entitled - Prohibition, the Purple Gang, and Jazz. I took a friend along as a birthday treat. It was just tremendous and we had such a good time. When I got home, I thought that I would like to take another tour - so much to see. I started researching Detroit tours and didn't see exactly what I had in mind. So, called Linda from the tour and we discussed the matter. She told me that I would need 20 people to go on a bus and she would do the tour I was looking for, which was the positive sights in Detroit, coupled with info on them, and the ability to stop a couple of times for restroom breaks. Well our date arrived, October 24, 2010 and once again it was astonishingly great. We learned info on Midtown tech area, info on the Piquette museum, background on the Motown building. We traveled to the Riverwalk and got out to look around, completely gorgeous. We saw the Dequindre trail, the Heidelburg Project (now 3 blocks long), Cork town, St. Ann's church, and finally stopped at Mexican town where we bought baked goods and had dinner. Altogether it was an informative and entertaining experience. You need to go on one of her tours!
Linda, All reports were wonderful. Paula Finkelstein went in my place and had rave reviews...said it was better than last year.

Linda Just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful tour you gave our social work group on 11/2/10 of Southwest Detroit. Not only was it educational it was inspirational to the many of us who still believe in Detroit and that Detroit is a fabulous place to work, live and call home.
Thanks again! Regards,

It was a pleasure to meet you and truly a pleasure to participate in your tour. You are great and deserve a lot of credit for all the positives you bring not only to our field but to our City. Thank you for being there. Yes, Of course you are welcome to use my letter on your web page. I did contact the TV stations already and asked them to consider FeetonTheStreet as a feature for some positive news. I've also dropped a line to the Metro Times as well as after having seen you in action I really believe that your work in bringing people into the City and doing what you do has such a major impact that you deserve some positive press. I'd be more than willing to write more or whatever to help spread the word. It's just really nice to meet someone who not only talks about things but actually lives out their beliefs ... Thanks again for a very enjoyable and energizing day!
When our daughter got married last year in Detroit, we relied on Feet on the Street to help with ideas and provide a walking tour of downtown. Everyone was so pleased. The tour included your beautiful RiverWalk, Campus Martius, the Guardian Building and other landmarks and fun facts about Detroit, Windsor, and the famous Woodward Ave, ending of course with coney dogs. Thanks for showing us the area - we loved seeing the positives going on around us. Plus, our guide was fun, knowledgeable and able to relate to the adults and kids on the tour.

Feet on the Street tours are an ideal way to entertain friends and, at the same time, feel good about highlighting all the wonderful sights in Detroit. Kudos to Linda Yellen and her excellent staff for offering opportunities to learn about Prohibition history, the revival and highlights of Eastern Market, and previously unknown sites of art and architectural interest. The tours are not just for out-of-towners; as a life-long Detroiter I am fascinated by what’s out there! We recently hosted a Prohibition tour for three couples; they loved it and so did we!

Thank you for a wonderful Saturday. Everyone loved the tour of Detroit. The young adults learned, the "older" adults reminisced. It was a great way to complete our Thanksgiving weekend. Very sincerely,
As a self described admirer of Detroit’s fine history, I was delighted and somewhat surprised to have Linda teach me new and interesting facts about the city I love. The “Come Hungry Leave Happy - Eastern Market Tour” was presented with warmth, energy and enthusiasm that was truly infectious. Assuredly, I will take some of the other tours offered and highly recommend Feet on The Street Tours to friends, family and visitors alike.
Entrepreneur and lifelong city of Detroit resident,
Thank you so much for organizing the Detroit tour during our wedding this summer. Our guests from all over the country really got a great feel for the city. Your knowledge and level of service was excellent.

Just wanted to thank you again for the great tour last week. Everyone in the group had a great time and look forward to taking another tour. We all enjoyed seeing locations from the inside out . It gave us all a new perspective on the cultures and traditions of the people in and around MexicanTown, and the history and ethnic changes to St. Anne's. You and Rachelle were excellent tour guides and meshed with our personalities beautifully.
Again, thank you so much!

Dear Linda, Thank you for helping us co-host the 2010 Southeast Michigan Geotourism Conference. It was a pleasure working with you.
The Conference Planning Committee,
October 2009 I run the enrichment program at the International Academy High School. This is a co-curricular program that reaches more than 1000 families across our tri-campus area. Students are required to participate in the enrichment program as part of their graduation requirement. We offer more than 100 different opportunities for students, designed to expand their knowledge outside the normal classroom experience. One of our Enrichment Programs that is new this year is called Detroit’s Rich Legacy. I feel it is very important for our students (mostly suburban residents) to understand the local history of the area and to learn about the city of Detroit firsthand. To develop this program, I met with Linda Yellin and Debbie Bridges from Feet On The Street Tours. They immediately understood my goals and enthusiastically developed a proposal that met all our goals. Using their depth of knowledge about the city and connections with businesses, Debbie and Linda developed a relevant, exciting and successful series of four tours. The tours, led by Linda Yellin and Rachelle LaLonde have been extremely well received by our students and teacher. I hope to grow on the success of our inaugural year with Feet On The Street Tours, and run this program on a yearly basis.

Feet On The Street Tours, Thanks for presenting at the first Southeast Michigan Heritage Tourism networking event. Attendees all provided positive feedback and appreciated your participation. Karin Risko, Grosse Ile, MI Regarding Presentation of Detroit: Past, Present and Future, November 2009 As a transplant from the East Coast, it was great to find out about your excursions. The “Nostalgic Detroit” bus tour gave me a great picture of the city and its history. It also helped me feel comfortable to explore more of the area on my own.

I’d like to thank you for your exciting and informative tour you gave for the Harper Hospital classmates of 1957 of Downtown Detroit and around and about the DMC. It was gratifying to see Detroit building up again. Best wishes for that reconstruction to continue.
In summer, the Downtown Women’s club is always looking for fun things to do outdoors…a walking tour was a natural fit. Linda’s insider knowledge of great places to dine and intimate knowledge of the city made a great combination for a DWC evening out. Many said it was one of our best events. These tours are great for groups like ours or for helping out of town guests get acquainted with Detroit’s many jewels. I would highly suggest anyone considering this to jump right in and do it. Linda makes it easy to treat your friends and family to a fun, informative time in the heart of our great city.
The tour you gave for the men and women served by JARC was so much fun! It was multi-sensory, historical and educational. We really enjoyed experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of Eastern Market and can’t wait to see the other parts of Detroit. As a recreational therapist, I’m always looking for inclusive and multi-sensory recreational opportunities for the people I work with. Feet On The Street Tours…provides a great experience for people of all abilities.

We all had the most wonderful day last Saturday and are ready to go again! I think this could be a regular thing for our group. Thank you again for a better-than-expected Detroit tour!!!!!

Dear Feet on the Street, We all agreed that our day with you was outstanding. How often can you find an event that pleases such a vast age range! Felix took his Heidelberg book to school with him yesterday as his favorite book of the summer. After the holiday, I will try to set up a date with my friends so we can do the house tour. If you ever need an endorsement for your tours, feel free to offer me as a reference.

We want to thank you for the two amazing tours of Detroit you gave us. As a couple of “out of towners”, much of Detroit has been a mystery to us. Your tours are a wonderful way to show people what a vibrant and wonderful place it is. You’re a natural and your enthusiasm is contagious! We had a great time, wishing you the best of luck.

Getting to know the people behind the places is a Hallmark of Feet On The Street’s city adventures-a feature I especially cherish. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Linda Yellin conveys her enthusiasm and love for Detroit (as a vibrant center) through the variety of tours that she offers which include the Eastern Market, the downtown center, and architectural gems of the city. Wanting to have a different kind of experience, we organized a group of friends several weeks ago under the energetic guidance of Linda. We visited the highlights, stopped in for a tour of the downtown synagogue, and ended up at the RiverWalk. Everyone agreed it was fun, interesting-and a lot of the credit goes to our tour guide Linda, who gave us history, introductions to the local folks, and suggestions for future outings. Detroit and the region is fortunate to have Feet On The Street Tours available for locals and visitors.
I was so excited when I saw the write up in the news about your tours. I have never forgotten what a terrific afternoon you gave our group and on such short notice to boot! Any opportunity to sing your praises, I shall do just that! You have my sincere respect, admiration and best wishes for success in this innovative venture!

Hello, Detroit is a wonderful city you've helped me to discover. The tour you provided was fun, exciting and very entertaining. Your knowledge of the history and of the architecture of the city has left in me a memorable souvenir. In addition, you gave me goodies to taste a bit more of the distinctive cultural aspect of the city. I couldn't expect more to feel the heart of the city of Detroit. I will not hesitate to spread the words about your tour.
Many thanks again.
